The Heart Project
The Heart Gallery of WV is seeking creative volunteers to assist with a project aimed to help WV foster children find adoptive families.
The Heart Gallery of West Virginia is an interactive photo exhibit featuring WV children in need of adoptive homes. The Heart Gallery is displayed at locations throughout the state.
Volunteers will be given a 6” wooden heart shape and asked to create an expressive art piece to be exhibited at an art show featuring the Heart Gallery. Volunteers will be made up of WV artists, individuals touched by adoption and the children featured on the Heart Gallery. In addition to increasing the visibility of the Heart Gallery, we hope that the project will allow featured children to express their personality and increase the potential of finding them an adoptive family.
We hope that volunteers will approach the project creatively. The provided shape is intended to be a common starting point and individuals are encouraged to work beyond the boundaries of the original shape. We ask that volunteers donate their piece to the Heart Gallery, for use in exhibits throughout the state and possible sale in the future to benefit the children of the Heart Gallery.

The Heart Project Debuted on May 13th at the Live at Lincoln Concert featuring Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
The Heart Project has since exhibited at The Arts Centre in Martinsburg, WV, during December 2007. Future dates to be announced.
